The G12 Askubal is a spherical plain bearing.
Spherical plain bearings are two-part plain bearings.
They do not have rolling elements, but consist of an inner and outer ring.
The inner ring has a spherical or convex surface.
The outer ring has a concave inner surface.
This design gives the spherical plain bearings their high load capacity and the ability to compensate for misalignment.
The G12 Askubal has a steel/bronze sliding pair.
The inner ring made of steel rests on the bronze surface of the outer ring.
Thanks to the steel/bronze sliding pair, this bearing is very wear-resistant and offers low friction.
However, the load capacity is somewhat lower compared to spherical plain bearings with steel/steel sliding pairs.
This bearing requires regular maintenance.
Proper lubrication is necessary to reduce friction and prevent contamination and corrosion.
